Learn all about the spine, including injuries and conditions of the neck and back

About the Spine

About 80% of adults will suffer from significant lower back pain at some time in their lives due to an injury at work, at home, or at play. Inflammation is thought to be one of the major causes of neck and back pain. Through the use of anti-inflammatory medications, we can help to reduce pain and swelling caused by inflammation. In addition, through physical therapy, proper posture training, and therapeutic exercise, we can help to increase the spine's strength, flexibility, strengthen core muscles, and enable patients to manage and prevent future episodes of pain. In combination with physical therapy, injections can help to alleviate discomfort when anti-inflammatory medications are unsuccessful. At Arthritis & Sports, Dr. Teresa Ulrey provides non-operative treatment for a full range of spinal conditions.
