Over his career, Dr. Peyton has combined his extensive academic training and clinical experience to provide his patients with exceptional results. Always seeking to improve the field of orthopaedics and hone his surgical skills, Dr. Peyton has pioneered numerous orthopaedic techniques and sought additional expertise within the field of total joint replacement. He has helped introduced the direct anterior approach to total hip replacement to the profession, and today performs more hip and knee replacement surgeries than any other surgeon at Reston Surgery Center.
Between his impeccable surgical skills and the recovery protocols he employs, Dr. Peyton’s patients see greatly improved surgical outcomes, fewer complications, and higher satisfaction. Many patients qualify for same-day outpatient hip or knee replacement at Reston Hospital, Northern Virginia’s premiere surgical facility. It is here that Dr. Peyton performed the first bilateral hip replacement in Northern Virginia, as well as the area’s first implantation of the Oxford unicompartmental knee. To make his surgeries as convenient as they are successful, Dr. Peyton also performs his muscle-saving operations at the Advanced Surgery Center of Bethesda, bringing his exceptional care even closer to the nation's capital.
Named to Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors in America” list for the past 7 years, Dr. Peyton is the recipient of many local, regional and national awards bestowed by patients and peers alike. His extensive experience as a leader, researcher and surgeon keeps Dr. Peyton in high demand as a speaker locally and nationally. Since 2014, he has been the presenting surgeon for numerous surgeon education courses throughout the country for his approaches to hip replacement and ACL surgeries.
