About Pediatric Orthopaedics
Whether suffering from a playground injury or dealing with a congenital issue, children have unique orthopaedic needs and concerns that make their course of treatment different from that of adults. And, with bones that are still maturing, these young patients deserve special attention and compassionate care. Our practice is devoted to the care of bones and joints in all of our patients from infants and children to adolescents and teenagers.
Our providers understand the special needs of children with orthopaedic disorders and provide expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Our goal is to help patients reach their full potential, whether it’s returning to a sport or simply enjoying being a kid. From broken bones and sports injuries to more complex cases, we are here to take care of your child’s every growing need. This includes caring for our pediatric athletes and returning them to competition as quickly as possible.
Each child is different, and so we develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient we see. We understand that families play a huge role in the child’s recovery, and we will actively involve the entire family in each step of the process. While some conditions and injuries may require surgery, many can be treated without by using medication, rest, bracing and splints, physical therapy, and/or time (to observe growth). If physical therapy is recommended, you will have access to one of our on-site physical therapy centers that is convenient to where you live or work.
When surgery is required, our young patients will benefit from the most up-to-date surgical techniques; including minimally invasive surgery and arthroscopy. Our providers and their dedicated staff will continue to work with each child until he or she is fully recovered.
