Physical Therapist

Arthritis & Sports, one of Northern Virginia’s largest providers of expert orthopaedic and therapeutic care, is currently seeking full-time outpatient Physical Therapists (PT or PTA) to join their Sterling team! Voted as the best Physical Therapy group in Northern Virginia by Virginia Living Magazine's readers in 2023, we strive to put our patients first and work in a collaborative environment to help each of our patients reach their goals. We provide our therapists with flexible scheduling options - with patients scheduled from 7am to 6pm, we have schedules that work for morning people, night owls, and everyone inbetween!

Our team of PTs and PTAs provide rehabilitative care for patients working to recover from a wide variety of orthopaedic and sports-related injuries. We work as a dynamic team to ensure our patients receive the best care possible in a positive environment.

This position will allow you to enhance your professional skills while working with a well-established team. Manual skills combined with therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular rehabilitation, and therapeutic activities are encouraged in your overall treatment approach.


This listing is for full-time physical therapists (PT or PTA) who are able to work an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists patients with all phases of physical therapy treatment and techniques including exercise instruction, manual therapy techniques, modalities (ultrasound), activities of daily living, and isokinetic program.

  • Evaluates incoming patient conditions to determine appropriate physical treatment programs and consults with referring Physicians regarding diagnosis.

  • Documents treatments rendered on billing sheets and in appropriate patient charts, records patient conditions and responses to treatments in charts after each visit, prepares patient care and progress notes and other required forms as requested.

  • Develops and implements physical therapy treatment programs based on each patient’s particular needs.

  • Consults with referring Physicians regarding patient diagnosis and communicates changes via progress notes.

  • Communicates with referring Physicians and Physical Therapy Assistants regarding patient therapy and equipment.

  • Communicates with Physical Therapy Assistants to perform interim therapy evaluations to continually modify and update treatment programs.

  • Operates and applies knowledge of standard physical therapy equipment.

  • Composes discharge notes for patients and refers to appropriate outside sources as necessary.

  • Attends continuing educational courses to obtain advanced critical skills.

  • Maintains current knowledge of Physical Therapist roles and continuing trends in the industry.

  • Communicates with potential referral sources to expand existing business and cultivate new business.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy -OR- Associates in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited school

  • State of Virginia Physical Therapy license

  • CPR certification

  • AED certification

  • First aid certification

  • Prior work-related experience helpful

  • Other certifications are preferred, including: dry needling, geriatrics, orthopaedics, and sports
