Medical Patient Care Coordinator
We are currently looking for full-time medical patient care coordinators for our busy Orthopaedics practices. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Opens office at the designated time each day, ensures readiness of the reception area, and ensures that the front desk activities are fully operational at the start of business hours.
Greets patients and explains patient benefit information to new patients.
Verifies and enters patient demographic and insurance information.
Responsible for ensuring patient has appropriate insurance referral for treatment being rendered.
Collects insurance copays or other patient balances and review accounts as needed.
Answers incoming phone calls, schedules appointments, and accurately relays patient messages to providers.
Tracks and enters insurance referrals into corresponding patient chart.
Responsible for scanning and uploading any incoming patient mail or forms into electronic chart.
Collects any fees as documented on fee ticket.
Unlocks money drawer and counts petty cash (in the sum of $200) and logs it into journal when opening in the morning and closing in the afternoon.
In charge of tidying up lobby throughout the day.
Monitors and returns messages left in general mailbox.
Attends staff and educational meetings.
Assures business cards and patient brochures are stocked at counter and waiting room.
Identifies no-shows and contacts patient’s to notify and reschedule.
Pulls flow sheets for next day and files flow sheets.
Verifies patient appointments for next day.
Advises Office Manager of items that need to be ordered for the front desk
In closing for the day, puts all files away, locks doors and appropriate drawers.
Verifies insurance benefits and eligibility for any services that require pre-certification.
Provides pre-certification for all providers.
Acts as a liaison between insurance provider, patient, and medical providers.
Explains to patients their insurance and ensures they understand what they are responsible for prior to being seen by their medical provider.
Communicates and answers all insurance-related questions for patients and staff.
Documents all insurance-related pre-certification information in patient's chart.
Answers phones and schedules appointments.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
One of the following:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
