Accounts Receivable Medical Biller

Arthritis & Sports is seeking a full-time accounts receivable medical biller to expand its Billing/Revenue Cycle Specialists Team. Our billing team supports over 30 providers, including orthopedic, physical therapy, and wellness services. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of solid experience in the healthcare industry and must have strong communication and computer skills, as well as an upbeat and positive attitude, to fit in well with our team.



  • Answer clinic and patient inquiries regarding patient accounts, and document conversations in appropriate patient records on computer.

  • Apply knowledge of practice procedures to respond to incoming correspondence and documents.

  • Prepare ortho clinic deposits.

  • Enter charges and in-office patient payments into practice management system.

  • Generate and send insurance claims. Print documentation and mail with claim to appropriate insurance company if claim cannot be submitted electronically.

  • Generate and send patient statements.

  • Enter patient payments and insurance payments received via telephone, electronic clearinghouse or lockbox into practice management system.

  • Review delinquent patient accounts, and prepare, mail, or fax appropriate correspondence to insurance companies and/or patients.

  • Contact patients via telephone to notify of delinquent account status and arrange payments.

  • Verify discrepancies in patient demographics, charges and/or payments with patients, clinics or insurance companies as needed.

  • Communicate with Billing Manager regarding any issues that need special attention.

  • Help eliminate roadblocks and promote changes that lead to legendary performance.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding, charge entry, electronic and paper claim submissions, follow-up procedures for unpaid/denied insurance claims, and payment posting (required)

  • Multi-payer A/R clean-up experience (ideal)
