Board Certified - Specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Neuromuscular Medicine
Dr. Chinwe D. John is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist (Physiatrist). She is also board-certified in Neuromuscular medicine. She received her medical degree from the College of Medicine University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1998. This was followed by a family practice internship at EKO hospital, Lagos. She went on to do a preliminary medicine internship at Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia as a required precursor to her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency. She completed her PM&R residency at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Hospital in New York. After residency she became board-certified in Neuromuscular medicine.

As a Physiatrist, her areas of expertise include management of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders including conservative spine management (neck and back pain), sports-related injuries, neuropathy, Scoliosis, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, Electromyography/Nerve conduction studies, Myofascial pain, Prosthetics and Orthotics.

In addition to her work at Arthritis & Sports Orthopaedics & Physical Therapy, she enjoys volunteering to help run the Thomas John Prostate Foundation.
Dr. John is an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine(AANEM), and the American Medical Association (AMA).

Her most recent publications include case reports published in the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Vol. 86, No.4) and an online case report published by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR). Dr. John was recently a lecturer at the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine located in Washington, D.C. She has also given presentations at Reston Hospital and National Rehabilitation Hospital.
